MatchesTeam India’s permanent wrist spinner in the limited overs formats, Yuzvendra Chahal’s became the first Indian bowler to have picked up a five-wicket haul in T20Is. The spinner from Haryana, Chahal first attracted attention when he took 34 wickets in the National Under-19 Cooch Behar Trophy in 2009, ending the tournament as its leading wicket-taker. He became a part of the Mumbai Indians Squad in 2011 and was a part of it in the Champions League T20 as well, where he starred for them in the final. Chahal, who has been a part of RCB since 2014, has gone on to take 23 and 21 wickets in the 2015 and 2016 season of the league. With his knack of picking wickets at regular intervals, Chahal made his debut for Team India that toured Zimbabwe in 2016 and was later given an opportunity against England in the T20Is, which he grabbed to the fullest. He has since gone on to establish himself as a bowler who beats the batsman with his variations and Virat Kohli’s go-to-man in the limited overs cricket. A match-winner on his day, Chahal was retained by the RCB by virtue of their Right To Match card.
