Trent Boult is one of the most prolific pacers in T20 cricket. He first rose to the spotlight following his achievements at the 2015 World Cup, which saw him end as the joint-highest wicket-taker with 22 wickets. Over the years, he has represented SRH, KKR, DC, MI, and RR, winning two titles, first with SRH in 2016 and then with MI in 2020, where he picked 25 wickets, including a Player of the Match performance in the Final. The left-arm pacer can swing the new ball and is known for striking early in the powerplay consistently. Boult is back in the MI fold after being secured for a price of INR 12.5 Crore at the 2025 TATA IPL Auction.

He was the highest run-getter for Maharashtra in the league stage of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2018-19. At the IPL 2019 Player Auction, the Chennai Super Kings secured his services at his base price of INR 20 lacs.
