In a thrilling encounter at the Narendra Modi Stadium, secured a comprehensive victory over the by 9 wickets, chasing down a challenging target with ease.

Opting to bat first, Gujarat Titans did not have the best of starts as Bengaluru's bowlers struck early, dismissing Saha and Gill to put pressure on the Titans. Sai Sudharsan's explosive innings, combined with Shahrukh Khan's aggressive cameo, propelled Gujarat to a formidable total of 200/3 in their allotted 20 overs. Chasing a daunting target, Royal Challengers Bengaluru got off to a flying start, courtesy of a blistering partnership between Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis. Although du Plessis departed after a quickfire cameo, Kohli anchored the innings with a sublime knock, well-supported by Will Jacks. The duo's clinical batting display ensured Bengaluru chased down the target comfortably with 4 overs to spare, finishing at 206/1. Jacks for his amazing striking was awarded man of the match.

Shubman Gill,  Skipper: "I think it was great hitting by them Kohli and Jacks. We need to come up with better plans and also need to execute them. When you are batting you can always think of scoring 15-20 runs more. We thought 200 was a good enough total for us, unfortunately, it didn't turn out the way we wanted it to."

Faf du Plessis,  Skipper: "I thought it was a really good wicket. When we bowled, we thought it was a total we could score. It feels like we've made progress in both departments. We were way off in the beginning of the tournament, but it feels like there's confidence in the group"

Will Jacks is Player of the Match

Will Jacks: " Amazing feeling right now. Faf and Virat got us off to a very good start. I struggled early on, but Virat kept his intensity up and I had the chance to get my rhythm. Once we had the time-out, we said let's get two really good overs and win the game. I just kept going and amazing feeling right now."

Gujarat Titans are set to host Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Match Number 45 of TATA IPL 2024 at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Both teams are struggling in the lower half of the points table, with the visitors currently at the bottom. Royal Challengers Bangalore come into this match with a bit of momentum, having secured a win against Sunrisers Hyderabad in their last outing, breaking a streak of six consecutive losses. They are keen to build on this recent success, especially with their bowling unit showing significant improvement.

On the other side, the Gujarat Titans are looking to recover from a narrow defeat against Delhi Capitals, where they lost by just four runs while chasing a formidable target of 225. A major concern for the Titans has been the lackluster performance of their middle order, which has contributed the least runs in the league so far this season. The team urgently needs these key players to step up if they are to compete effectively and return to winning ways. As both teams face off, Gujarat aims to leverage home advantage to overcome their challenges, while Bangalore looks to continue their revival in form.

PITCH REPORT:
Michael Clarke and Graeme Swann: " It's a hot day, 62m and 64m are the square boundaries while down the ground is at 72m. The wicket looks pretty good, but it's quite dry. It should spin a bit and will be consistent even if you're batting first or second. 180 could be a good total, but both teams will rely heavily on spin and changes in variations.

TOSS:
has won the toss and have elected to first

Faf du Plessis, Skipper: "The wicket will be better later to bat, so we will look to chase. Our bowlers have been exceptional in the last two matches. We have scored big with the bat too. Maxwell comes back in as it's a day game and he plays spin well plus now we have some firepower in the middle-order"

Shubman Gill, Skipper: "   We Would have chased as well, looks like a really good wicket to bat second. Need to put a good score on the board. We have batted decently, we lost by a difference of just one ball in the last game. This is the right time to peak for us."
