A nail biter at Dharamsala going the visitor's way. did not have the best of starts losing 4 wickets for just 50 runs within 7 overs but the middle order packed a punch to take RR by surprise. Sam Curran and Jitesh Sharma formed a solid partnership of 64 from 44 to keep PBKS in the game. The onslaught began with Shahrukh Khan who took the attack to the opposition smashing 41 at a strike rate of 178 taking PBKS to a challenging total of 187. Adam Zampa's spell conceded at only 6.50 r.p.o restricting PBKS scoring to some extent. In response, RR once again lost Buttler Eaerly who registered his fifth duck of the season but the two Indian Southpaws Jaiswal and Padikkal kept going at a brisk rate. Hetmyer coming in at number 5 smacked 3 maximums and 4 fours which helped RR catch up to the asking rate. Cameos from Parag and Jurel helped seal the game in the last over with 2 balls to spare.
is still alive in the league and will have to depend on a few other results in order to make it to the playoffs.
Shikhar Dhawan, Captain: "We quite a few wickets in the first six and that put us on the back foot in the first innings but Sam Curran, Jitesh Sharma, and Shahrukh Khan's knocks got us back in the match. Our bowling was good in patches but the fielding was not that good. The dropped chances cost us the match. I feel 200 would have been a good total on this wicket. Speaking about the season, We could have done better in all departments. Sometimes the batters were clicking and sometimes the bowling unit was doing well. We failed to put up those performances together. But it's a young side, so we have learned a lot of things this season."
Sanju Samson, Captain: "We thought with the way Shimron Hetmyer was going we will win it by 18.5. We have a quality team and it is dissapointing to see where we are on the points table. I have been talking about Yashasvi Jaiswal almost every game now. He has shown immense levels of maturity. It feels as if he has played 100 T20 Internationals. Every match we feel Trent will pick a wicket for us in the first over. We were under pressure in the last few games".
Devdutt Padikkal is the Player of the Match
Devdutt Padikkal: "Coming into the season I was feeling confident. But it didn't pan out the way I thought. Every game as a cricketer you want to win it for your team. To be honest, it has been a strange season. I have been batting everywhere in the batting order. I need to learn and adapt to batting at every position. At the start of the season, I thought I might not make it. But really happy to receive this award tonight"
Match 66 of the Indian Premier League will take place between and
at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala. Both sides have a bleak chance of making it to the playoffs. A win for either of them will take their points tally to 14 which will not guarantee them a spot in the top four. For these teams to qualify they will have to depend on the results of other matches taking place on the Weekend. But what is in their hands is to play in high spirits and put up a valiant show in their last match of the season.

Ground Dimensions :
PITCH REPORT:
Murali Kartik and Matthew Hayden: "It's the same wicket that was used against the Capitals. Talking about the ground dimensions, it's equally far from either side. Down the ground is 76 meters. Tonight it's a similar surface, although there isn't much of green on the surface which would not give that much movement to the seamers. Not much assistance for the Spinners too. Seems like a good batting track If I win the toss I would bat first as dew is not going to be a big factor tonight."
TOSS:
WINS THE TOSS AND ELECTS TO
FIRST
Sanju Samson, Captain: "We want to bowl first. Looking at the ground dimensions and looking at what we require in the tournament, Bowling is a better option. We need to win this game and then see how the rest of the matches go. If you want to play a competitive game of T20 cricket, you need to forget the past. We have had four to five days of rest. We have made a couple of changes. These are last-minute changes. Ravichandran Ashwin misses out on today's match because of a back spasm".
Shikhar Dhawan, Captain: "Last game, there wasn't much of dew. Batting first or Second doesn't matter we want to enjoy the game. We Will try to give our best shot. We ideally want need to take more wickets in the powerplay so that we can cash in more. We are playing the same team."
