successfully defend 130 against the best Team in the tournament. DC were off to a horrible start after losing half the side inside the powerplay. Mohammad Shami made the ball talk and the DC top order had no answers to it. The fast bowler picked 4 wickets conceding just 11 runs. A counter-attack from DC began when Batter No. 6,7 & 8 were at the crease. Aman Khan top scored for DC scoring his maiden fifty in IPL. 
did not start well either, 4 of the top 5 in the batting order managed only single-digit scores. Skipper Hardik Pandya did hold one end up but could not score at a brisk rate. Rahul Tewatia coming in at number 7 did bring GT back in the game after smashing 3 sixes against Anrich Nortje but Ishant Sharma managed to hold on to his nerves in the last over defending 12 runs. GT fell short by 5 runs in the end!
Hardik Pandya, Skipper: " We would have taken 129 on any given day, to be honest. We were slow to get off the blocks, but Rahul Tewatia got us back in the game like he always does. I tried my best in the end but it was not to be. I and Abhinav Manohar were hoping to get a couple of big overs in the middle but we couldn’t get going. It was not easy for Abhinav as well and it boils down to how I could not finish the game. Full marks to the bowlers and full ownership I couldn’t finish it. Shami was brilliant and made the ball talk but feel bad for him that we end up on the losing side"
David Warner, Skipper: " Our bowlers were simply amazing. Our batters struggled but credit goes to the way Mohd. Shami delivered. We just find ways to lose wickets in clusters, I don't know what's the issue with our batting. We tried playing positively today but failed. We wanted to come out and swing the ball, and get early wickets. Khaleel did well after coming back from injury, and Ishant is forever getting younger. Very happy with their performance

Mohammad Shami: " I just stick to my plans. Maintain the line and length that we discuss. This wasn't an above-par score. I felt we should have got it. The mistake was losing wickets at regular intervals and partnerships came too late. Such things happen, We have to move on. "
In Match 44 of IPL 2023, the Defending Champions will lock horns with the at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The visitors have won just 2 games out of their 8 and have been struggling to find the right balance. David Warner is scoring runs but the likes of Shaw and Manish Pandey have not had any major impact this year. Mitchell Marsh and Phil Salt need to get runs if DC wants to post a big score on the board. DC spinners Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav have done a fair job but the pacers have been leaking runs. Anrich Nortje and Mukesh Kumar's bowling will be tested by a GT batting unit that has been batting with attacking intent from top to bottom. It will be a daunting task for the visitors to defeat the table toppers in their own backyard.

PITCH REPORT:
Nick Knight.: "It might rain a little but at this moment it is dry and fine. The third time the same pitch is being used and most likely the final will be played on this strip as well. There is a nice covering of grass but it’s chopped down a little bit. As per the Groundsman, it's a little bit drier this time around partly because we are expecting a bit of rain and when they put the covers on, they don’t want this to be too moist. There will be a bit of cracks in patches. If you are getting a total of 180-190, you have a good chance to win."
