A match that was anybody's game till the very last ball. started well after being asked to bat first by Rohit Sharma. Skipper David Warner and Manish Pandey compiled 43 of five overs before Piyush Chawla tilted the momentum in MI's favour. The leggie accounted for three Delhi middle-order wickets giving away just 22 runs from his quota of four. Another twist came when Axar Patel unleashed his hitting prowess, the all-rounder smashed 54 runs at a strike rate of 216 helping DC post 172 on the board. Skipper David Warner played second fiddle compiling 51 at a meager strike rate of 108. In reply, the MI left-right duo of Ishan Kishan Rohit Sharma came out all guns blazing. The openers put on 71 runs off just 45 balls. Tilak Varma promoted at number three did justice to the role by rotating the strike and taking calculated risks. MI was cruising along until the DC finger spinners Axar Patel and Lalit Yadav put breaks on the MI scoring. Picking three wickets in a span of six balls brought DC back into the game. It was Tim David and Cameron Green who was able to stay calm and help register their first win of this season.

ROHIT SHARMA is the Player of the Match

Rohit Sharma, MI Skipper: "Winning the game is the most important thing. We have been working hard since the first game. I say that every time, the First win is always special. It was necessary to include a spinner here.  The spinners kept us in the game. We needed to bat well to chase the total. I thought everyone put their hand up. We had to make it count for the team. I needed to make use of the powerplay, I knew we had to keep attacking and take my chances. I tried to create a partnership and had good communication with Tilak. It was important for us to have a good partnership. We have young guys who haven't played IPL before, so it's important to have faith in them."

David Warner, DC Skipper: "  If You look at the last three IPL games we have witnessed all three have been amazing. We ended up on the wrong end of it today, but the guys were fantastic. Rohit played a fantastic knock at the top of the order for MI. Anrich Nortje is a world-class bowler and that's what we expect from him also Mustafizur Rahman was up to the mark. I think from the last three games, we've had some positives but we shouldn't lose wickets in clumps. Axar Patel should bat in the top four the way he is striking the ball. So, a lot of positives to take from the matches that have gone by so far.

The action moves to the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi where the hosts will take on the five-time champions . Both teams have not won a single match so far and would look to bounce back to winning ways. Capitals enter into this contest on the back of three defeats which came against LSG, GT, and RR. Skipper David Warner has been scoring runs but the same has not come at a strike rate that is expected from the Southpaw. Prithvi Shaw has not been in the best of forms either. The Top Order must fire if Delhi wants to go long in this tournament. Axar Patel and Lalit Yadav have been doing well according to their roles on the side. The Indian Pace battery of Khaleel Ahmed, Mukesh Kumar, and Chetan Sakariya has been expensive while Anrich Nortje has not had any major impact either. The bowling unit will need to come good against a side that is filled with some super-skilled shotmakers. Rohit Sharma and Co. have not got off to a good start either as the team has lost both of its encounters so far. Suffering defeats at the hands of CSK and RCB have raised many questions on their combination in the tournament in absence of some of their top players. Form of Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav at the Top is a major concern for the MI side. Ishan Kishan managed to get some runs on the board in the previous game but failed to capitalize. The bulk of the scoring has been done by Tilak Varma who has impressed everyone with his temperament while batting in difficult circumstances. Jofra Archer and Jason Behrendorff along with other Indian Pacers have leaked runs while the spin department consisting of Piyush Chawla, Hrithik Shokeen and Kumar Kartikeya has bowled some tight overs without much success. It will be an interesting contest between two teams that are looking to register their first win in the tournament!

PITCH REPORT:
Chris Morris and Ian Bishop: " The dimensions of the ground are quite unique. 60 metres and 70 metres are the two square boundaries. Down the ground, it is 73 metres. There is a  grass cover halfway down in the middle of the pitch and around the 3-4 metre length, a bit of patchy grass and a few bare patches which could mean a bit of indifferent bounce which could be a challenge. The important thing for the bowlers is to hit those bare pitches right and consistently. Quick outfield and wind can play a factor tonight".

TOSS:-
wins the toss and elects to    first!

Rohit Sharma, Skipper: "We will look to bowl first. We batted first in the first 2 games but didn't do well enough. The pitch looks quite dry and probably some turn on offer and dew might also be a factor here. Changes include Riley Meredith in place of Tristan Stubbs. We will see how it goes. When the chips are down you need the senior players to stand up. Jofra Archer is not available."

David Warner, Skipper: "  We would have done the same thing' bowl first. For me it is about finding a rhythm and as a whole group, we gotta work harder and get sharper quickly. We got a forced change to our side, Khaleel Ahmed is injured and we got Yash Dhull in his place of him. Also, Rilee Rossouw makes way for Mustafizur Rahman."
