started strong after getting a dismissal of the very first ball of the innings. The visitors
lost three top-order wickets inside the powerplay with just 41 on the board. Only two PBKS batters managed to get double-digit scores. Shikhar Dhawan carried his bat through the innings. The left-hander was batting on a different track altogether. Dhawan remained unbeaten on 99 off 66 balls playing with a boundary percentage of almost 80. Mayank Markande was impressive with his wily variations which fetched him 4 wickets conceding only 15 runs. While chasing 145, SRH started well but lost both their openers by the end of the ninth over. It was a Rahul Tripathi show from there on which took the team home with 17 balls to spare. Aiden Markram and Tripathi's 100-run stand made sure that the team does not have any more hiccups. Tripathi and Markram remained unbeaten on 74 & 37 respectively!
SHIKHAR DHAWAN is the Player of the Match
Shikhar Dhawan, Skipper: "Very happy with my knock. As a batting unit, we lost too many wickets and couldn't put a big total on the board and this is the reason we lost the game. 175-180 would have been a reasonably good score. It was seaming and swinging a bit, we couldn't tackle that and fell short. We had to apply ourselves on this wicket. I was pleased with the bowling, there was not much to defend, lot of learning for us from this game. I am grateful for the 99 and I am very happy. I was playing according to the situation and kept scoring boundaries when it was needed."
Aiden Markram, SRH Skipper: "It was special. It was a little rough for us at the start but we are happy to win today. I am super happy for Mayank Markande. He bowled really well tonight. Also, Rahul Tripathi . He is a special talent. He is only a couple of balls away from something special and he showed his class tonight. Things get easy with Rahul at the other end. Great franchise to be a part of and it's our first win of the season, it means a lot to me as a Skipper of the side."
Hello and welcome to the second match of the doubleheader day where the Sunrisers Hyderabad hosts the Kings from Punjab. One team - did well in both their matches and won those while the other team -
could'nt find a way to open their account yet. PBKS won both their matches defending the target and their batting and bowling looks quite fixed. SRH suffered in their batting department and are yet to make a score more than 131. The Orange Army will back their team today. Will PBKS continue their streak or will the hosts rise tonight?
Pitch Report:
Simon Doull and Simon Katich: "Here we have come from red soil to black soil. It's very dry with a few cracks. The team winning the toss will bat first potentially. We can expect a little bit of swing with the new ball. We can witness more spin than the other day. All in all, a pretty good surface. Bat first, put runs on the board."
TOSS:
won the toss and elected to field first!!
Aiden Markram, SRH Skipper: "We will have a bowl first, happy to chase. Looks like a good surface we can bowl well upfront hopefully. The atmosphere has been pretty calm. Hopefully we can claim our first victory here. Mayank Markande and Heinrich Klaasen are making their debut here today."
Shikhar Dhawan, PBKS Captain: "We wanted to bat first however. We would like to put a big total. They lost two games while chasing, so we'll like to put them under pressure. It looks like a very good wicket. The whole team is performing, that's very important and happy for that. We have an experienced bowling side. In the batting, we have experience and youngsters. We have a change as Matthew Short comes in for Bhanuka Rajapaksa."
