Lucknow Super Giants successfully defend a total for the third consecutive game as they win by 6 runs to move to the second spot on the table! After winning the toss and electing to bat, Lucknow posted 195 on board after twin fifties from KL Rahul and Deepak Hooda. In the chase, Delhi got off to a quick start, scoring 66 runs in the Powerplay, after which timely strikes from Mohsin Khan ensured that Lucknow held their nerve in the end to win by 6 runs.

Rishabh Pant, Delhi Capitals Skipper: "I think it was a tough loss, but we have to start winning close matches. We came close few games but we are losing it. Really happy that the bowlers pulled it back but on these kinds of wickets when the bowlers put up a helping hand, we got to perform as a batting unit as well. It was really nice to see the way Mitch Marsh was batting but as a batting unit we need to start converting those 30s and 40s into a big score. Hopefully we can turn it around. As a team there are a lot of positives and there is not much to discuss but we would like to improve ourselves in the next game."

KL Rahul, Lucknow Super Giants Skipper: "Happy with the way we are doing the right things, just gives us confidence and we need to come out every game and give it our 100%. Mohsin Khan has been brilliant, played him in the nets first time a month ago and didn't want to face him. He was sharp and scary at times in the nets. It's not just the pace, he has a good brain, has a bit of skill as well, has a great slower one and he knows when to use them. Hooda has been batting well, he's batted well throughout the season. He's been smart and he's read the situation really well. We did want to use the powerplay. When you're batting first, you generally want to take a couple of balls and see what the pitch is like and then play your big shots but Quinton was going from ball one. The start we got really set us up and we played well after that as well. It's been hot, felt like 100 degrees today, I was just cramping and nothing else. It's the last afternoon game, so really happy."

Mohsin Khan is the Player of the Match
Mohsin Khan: "I am so happy today. My mom and dad would be seeing it on TV. I enjoyed Pant's wicket the most. Because I set him up by bowling back of a length. Rahul bhai told me to bowl a really full ball he won't be expecting and I did what he said and got the wicket. I just want to continue doing what I am doing. I just want to execute what I practice in the nets. I don't think too much. Right from the start I look to bowl fast. I just want to try and do well with the opportunities I get and keep winning games for the team."

PITCH REPORT:
Kevin Pietersen: "It looks like a beautiful wicket. On this wicket, we are starting to see a trend, we are seeing the best spinners be a little bit braver. By a little bit braver, I mean they are starting to slow up, you are starting to see more wickets taken. The wicket looks okay, 160-170 will be a par-score."
