Hailing from Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Dubey has been a key figure in Karnataka’s domestic circuit. He made his first-class debut for Karnataka in the 2020-21 Ranji Trophy and his T20 debut in the 2017-18 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, impressing with his deceptive googlies and handy lower-order batting. His IPL journey began with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (2016-17) before moving to Delhi Capitals (2020-23), where he featured in four matches, claiming two wickets, including the prized scalp of Jonny Bairstow in 2023. Recognising his spin-bowling prowess, Punjab Kings acquired him for INR 30 lakh at the IPL 2025 mega auction. He now joins forces with Yuzvendra Chahal to strengthen PBKS’ spin attack, aiming to control the middle overs with his variations and tactical nous.
