The flamboyant Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell needs no introduction in world cricket. His ability to make unconventional shots - reverse sweeps and pulls, for example - appear routine and make it hard to set fields to cover all of his scoring areas. Maxwell's audacity comes with risk, and he can exasperate as well as exhilarate, but at his best, he can change a game in moments. Also a handy off-spinner and outstanding fielder, Maxwell offers an impressive package in one-day and T20 cricket when things click. His most extraordinary display (among many) in recent times came against Afghanistan in the 2023 ODI World Cup when he struck a monumental 201 not out off 128 deliveries to lead Australia to a remarkable victory from an almost improbable position. Maxwell has featured for many IPL teams, including Mumbai Indians (2012-2013), Kings XI Punjab from 2014-17 (now Punjab Kings), Delhi Daredevils in 2018 (now Delhi Capitals ). His golden run in the IPL came with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (2021-24), He notched up a staggering 513 runs in the 2021 edition, followed by 400 runs in the 2023 edition, making him a key set-up in the franchise. The year 2025 will mark a return for him to the PBKS set-up as he was acquired for INR 4.2 Crore.
