| Nickname | Jam |
| IPL debut | 2008 |
Celebrated as one of the game’s most technically gifted batsmen, ‘Jammy’ has always been Jammy, blending textbook shots with modern-day slogging when playing the Twenty20 format. The former India captain is a member of the elite 10,000-run club in both, Tests and ODIs. He is also the only batsman in Test history to score a century in every Test-playing nation and the only Indian to score hundreds in four consecutive Test innings. He recently quit international cricket – drawing tributes from across the cricketing world – as one of Test-cricket’s leading run-getter and with the record for pouching the most catches. The former RCB skipper was signed by the Rajasthan Royals during the IPL Player Auction 2011. He was the team’s highest run-getter in IPL 2011 and has taken over the reins from Shane Warne since IPL 2012, emerging as the second highest run-getter for RR.
