Primarily a middle-order batsman who can also bowl when needed. Representing Kerala in the Ranji Trophy Ralphi was one of the recipients of the prestigious Border-Gavaskar scholarship – which is given to the top three U-19 players in the country – in 2003. This scholarship gave Gomez the opportunity to embark on a five-week training programme at the Commonwealth Bank Cricket Academy in Adelaide. The 27-year-old, who has had stints with the Rajasthan Royals and the Kochi Tuskers Kerala, will turn out for the Pune Warriors India in IPL 2013.
