A promising medium pacer, Mohammed Shami made his Ranji Trophy debut for Bengal against Assam in November 2010. Shami boasts of the ability to swing the ball while not losing accuracy. Yet to make the KKR playing XI after being signed up in 2011, Shami has already donned the India blue and impressed too. On his ODI debut, in a low-scoring, high-pressure match against Pakistan in Delhi, he returned match-winning figures of 9-4-23-1. He became the first Indian to bowl four or more maiden overs on debut. The medium pacer can now hope to make his IPL debut in 2013 despite the presence of senior and internationally acclaimed pacers in the squad.
