Manpreet Gony was among the few cricketers who made a big impression in the inaugural edition of the IPL in 2008. The Punjab fast bowler impressed with his pace, bounce and consistency while playing for the Chennai Super Kings. After that, he was called up to the Indian one-day team. However, he was unable maintain his rhythm at the international level. Injuries dented the progress of this pacer. However, things seem to be falling into place once again for him; he was Punjab’s leading wicket-taker in Ranji Trophy during the 2011-12 season. He was signed by the Deccan Chargers at the IPL Player Auction 2011 and is another new recruit for the Mohali franchise.
