The Tasmanian all-rounder is highly rated in Australian cricket circles. A left-arm medium pacer and a right-hand batsman, Faulkner has consistently picked up key wickets. The youngster also chips in with a few handy runs while batting in the lower-middle order. Faulkner was Melbourne Stars’ leading wicket-taker with 13 wickets in eight matches in the Big Bash League’s first season. Also known as ‘Jimmy’, he is said to be a lively character and keeps the spirits up in the dressing room. He was part of the Pune Warriors set-up in IPL 2011, and turned out for the Kings XI Punjab in IPL 2012. He has been inducted into the Rajasthan Royals side for IPL 2013.
