The 19 year-old Sri Lankan off-spinner will join R Ashwin at CSK in IPL 2013 to double up the power of unorthodox spin. After impressing Mahela Jayawardene as a net bowler with the various weapons in his unbelievably huge spin bowling armoury, Dananjaya was fast-tracked into the national team without ever having played professional cricket in his life. He was inducted in Sri Lanka’s team for the 2012 World Twenty20 after some good performances for Wayamba United in the Sri Lankan Premier League. The word of Dananjaya’s unique talent crossed the national boundaries when CSK bought him at the 2013 IPL Player Auction for USD 20,000.
